Our History
The practice was founded by Dr. Harry Hamilton in 1914. Dr. Edward C. King joined the group about 1932, followed by Dr. Robert W. Baker Sr. in 1954, Dr. Kenneth I. Lieberman in 1967, Dr. Achilles M. Filios in 1969, Dr. Robert W. Baker Jr. in 1987, and Dr. John D. Duthie in 2003.
Dr. Robert Baker Sr. founded our Curaçao-affiliated practice in 1970. Dr. Donald Montanari joined the group in 1977 in an effort to bring modern orthodontic treatment to this beautiful island in the Netherlands Antilles.
We feel that our group's philosophy affords our patients the best possible treatment options as all of our doctors examine and develop treatment plans for every case; drawing on our years of experience. We are proud of our group's longevity, continuous patient care and commitment to teaching and service.
Our Philosophy
The design of our logo represents our philosophy.
- The clouds represent the five Finger Lake areas our patients come from.
- The sail represents our continual commitment to remain knowledgeable of the most current technology available, to ensure improved patient care.
- The circle represents the entire Finger Lakes area.
- The rising sun represents our commitment to maintaining positive attitudes and providing positive experiences for every patient at each visit.
Appointments
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment. After missing your second appointment without notifying us 24 hours in advance, you are subject to being charged an additional fee.
Insurance
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services and allow them 45 days to render payment. However, we do not put accounts on hold awaiting insurance payment. It is your responsibility to keep your account current and in good standing at all times. After 60 days, you are responsible for the entire balance, paid-in-full. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.
